Motion Binding
Motion Binding – one of the more disturbing optical illusions I’ve seen recently. I thought it was fake until I tried replacing the “occluders” with my fingers held over the screen.

Wow! That was awesome!
When they talk about looking at the square with your peripheral vision (or inner eye) that’s what I do with those Magic Eye illusions. I could see the coherent movement with the corner of my eye, but when I looked at it directly, everything started moving separately!
That was cool, thanks!
Actually, I noticed the circular-seeming motion before I noticed the line pairs. In actuality, the (visible) lines ARE moving in pairs, although the circular motion of the (partially invisible) diamond shape is suggested by the relative motion of the two pairs.
